Track and Auto Cross season is upon us. :-)
Anyone running Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2's on their .2 Spyder?
Comments? Like? Wear?
Anyone had theirs "Heat Cycled" or "Shaved" by Tire Rack before install?

Track season? I knew there was a reason I stay in the the Bay Area. I've been tracking since January. Lol
I can't comment on mpsc2 on a spyder, but I can tell you my experience on the GT3 vs nt01 on my spyder.
The mpsc2 grip a touch more than nt01 for the first 12 heat cycles (1.3G), after that they drop to nt01 grip level (1.2G). Whereas the nt01 stay fairly consistent throughout their life. I can't comment on wear since wear on a gt3 isn't the same as a spyder.
NT01 is still the best value R comp out there, imo.

Have them on my 987CR, but first track day is in May and till then I run the Michelin PS2. Hope they work fine, only road-legal alternative (want to get to trackday and back on the sport tires, then swap back to street tires) is Dunlop SportMaxx Race.

* The most amusing exceptions are when a manufacturer (I'm talking to you, Toyo, Hankook, Bridgestone, et al) arbitrarily changes the rating so that the otherwise unchanged tire is legal for a particular racing class.

They're sometimes (but not always*) accurate when comparing tires by the same manufacturer, since the numbers are self-determined. As you say, a useless exercise when comparing brands. * The most amusing exceptions are when a manufacturer (I'm talking to you, Toyo, Hankook, Bridgestone, et al) arbitrarily changes the rating so that the otherwise unchanged tire is legal for a particular racing class.
