momentary "Interim Service Now" on startup?
with 341 miles on the car, I've noticed an "interim service now" yellow alert appear for a second or so when I turn the ignition on. Dealer service says "not a problem, ignore it until you come in for something else". My question is, do all the new Caymans do this and I just failed to notice it for the first week or two or is this an anomaly that I will ultimately want to get fixed? I found discussion on other forums suggesting this happens on more than just my car, and that it was a software bug - the only thread reporting a solution says that the dealer replaced the PCM/radio.
what is the group experience?

I have a '14 cayman s and this hasn't happened.
UPDATE: this just happened to mine 2 days ago - tells me interim service for 39k miles is due - only my current odo shows 7k miles...???

took the car in to dealer, cleared the warning, put in one tank of gas, now at 1300 miles the warning is back - this is not a good sign for Porsche - they used to be reliable - what's happened.

My 2014 Cayman did this at about 2800 miles. Dealer reset and before leaving the parking lot had the same message again. The car is running great. Looks like a software thing to me.
First post BTW.

the dealer service promised to call me back after talking to Porsche. They have not done so. This does not bode well for our future relationship. There is no excuse for not following up.

There have been several hundred views of this thread. It would be helpful if anyone else who has seen this problem, especially with 2014 Caymans, would chime in so we can get a feeling for how widespread it is. It may be that individual dealers don't have enough sample size to know if the problem is generic or isolated to a few cars.

how do you get build date? The one "odd" thing about my car (that has this problem) is that the dealer said it was purchased by PCA and they got it from PCA rather than from the factory directly.

on the tag in the door jam, my car has 02/13 which looks like a date, but it was sold as new by the Porsche dealer, and as a 2014 model year in Aug 2014. is that a bit early?
that makes me wonder. VIN begins WP0AA2A81EK17xxxxx
When I had the first reset at a bit over 100 miles, the dealer's shop assured me that the software was the latest version.

Happened again today. Interesting that I was just scrolling through the service message screens the day before to see what it said. I wonder of there is a correlation where viewing this screen triggers an alert. It says I'm ready for 32,500 service. Odo shows 7,500.

well, there's a thought - I didn't realize there was a service message screen - I guess I'll have to find it and see if it provides additional information - it must be on that large screen display that I dislike so much - I'll see what I can find in the manual on how to get there.
