I use this mic:
http://www.amazon.com/Olympus-ME-52W-Noise-Canceling-Microphone/dp/B000MYPPPE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1367159951&sr=8-1&keywords=microphone+olympus+noise+reduction

I route the wire through the rear decklid, and then clip behind the license plate frame. Perfect place.

BTW, average coolant temps were 200F, peak of 208F. Average oil temp was mid 240s, peak of 246F. 3rd radiator works like a charm.

Hey Joe,
Great video!!
I also get the waggle in heavy braking.
I think it is the ABS working.
It does make it a wild ride.

Thanks. Is this GoPro Compatible?

Unfortunatly, my rear camera with the external mic was frizzing out on me, so I only had one session with good audio (damn you, gopro). FF to 5:23 for that part. This was the session where I got some footage of redyps and Schmidt's Cat, though.

In regards to my brembo type III brake rotors and PFC08 pads, I'm very happy with the setup. Zero issues with fade or stopping power. I've always been able to get my brakes to smoke on the BRZ and my old Evo, but the spyder brakes still never smoke. I think that the sheer size of the PCCB calipers and corresponding rotors have a lot of capacity in them. Stopping power is much better with the PFC08 pads over the P40 OEM PCCB pads. However, with the increased stopping power, a new 'issue' has come up:

The rear end of my car likes to squirm like mad when braking hard from 100+ mph. So much so, it feels like I might lose control of the car. The rear chase cam from my buddy following me doesn't seem to show that much wiggle, but I definitely feel it, and it can be disconcerting. Is this a problem with my stock LSD? I'm guessing I need to bite the bullet and upgrade to a guards LSD if I want to get rid of this, but I'd like to hear any other thoughts as to why this might be happening or what I can do about it. Interestingly enough, Ben doesn't seem to have this problem. Is this because he has PDK and I'm manual? Is this because of my larger brakes? Is it the GT3 master cylinder? Is this because I'm doing something wrong techically? (I believe I'm braking in a straight line).
Cool video setup

Thanks. I'm not convinced it's ABS. I didn't hear/feel the wheels trying to lock. It may be because my wheel weights flew off and the wheels were unbalanced at that point. It may also be an alignment issue. I'm going to try the simple things first and go from there.

Joe et al,

If you guys are talking about what I think you're talking about (rear end getting squirrely under heavy braking), this is from a lack of LSD or because the stock LSD is not up to the task (stock Porsche LSDs suck). Guard LSD will fix that problem.

It ain't just me talking - many personal accounts from seasoned drivers where the back end squirreling under heavy braking disappeared after better LSD install. Obviously LSD is also important for preventing inside wheel spin in tight corners. I have no idea why Ben's symptoms disappeared on its own. Perhaps his were from a different problem.

I talked to the shop that does some work on my car about the rear end squirming. They think it's because I'm running too aggressive of a pad on the rear of the car. I'm running PFC08 all around. Maybe I'll put the OEM P40s back on the rear?

If that was the cause, I would have expected ABS to be involved.
It should be easy enough to swap to see. Make sure you're running comparable times and speeds to see, though.

Interesting, as I've never heard that before. In fact, it's very popular to run Pagid Yellows in front and Pagid Blacks in rear (higher biting and braking force.. and heat generation) at the track, granted more commonly in 911s than 987s.

I run Pagid Yellows front & back. I used to get a lot more rear end squirreling in the Boxster S (no LSD). Get much less now on the Spyder with LSD, though I do have more negative camber now than I had in the S. I've heard experienced people say that a good LSD (e.g. Guard) will solve the squirrely rear end problem, and AFAIK that's what Matt (from Guard) says also.

BTW, I recently bought PFC brake pads to try out when the current Pagids are done. Where did you get PFC 08 for the rear, Joe? I could only find PFC 06 online and that's what I ended up buying - 08 for front and 06 for rear.

I doubt that this is the case since PFC08 is not an aggressive pad.

Joe has the PCCB calipers, if you have standard calipers then PFC08 is not available for the rear.

Gotcha. That's what I suspected since I couldn't find them. Thanks, Ben.

Let me know how PFC08/PFC06 combo works out. My next set is PFC06 all around coming from Endless ME20.

Will do, Bud. But it may take a little bit as my Pagids are almost new (1 day on fronts and none in rear).
