2004 Cayenne S slipping gearbox
Usually when cold slips a bit.
Then gets better.
Mechanic Did a gearbox oil change and mechanic says its even worse, so far he put 6 quarts .
Is there an specific procedure for the gearbox oil change?
How many quarts? 9?
The car has 70,000 miles.

Anyhow I assume a Tip is the transmission type? No manual can slip but of course a clutch can.
There is a specific procedure for a Tip (or manual for that matter) fluid change.
The number of quarts is tied to the vehicle's VIN and the type of drain. A short drain might call for say 9 (just a number) quarts, while a long drain (overnight) might call for 12 (again just a number) quarts.
Might mention too often a drain temperature is called out.
In the case of a Tip if the torque converter is drained (if it can be drained while the Tip is still in the vehicle) this can nearly double the amount of fluid that is needed to refill the Tip.
If you doubt the shop knows the right amount of fluid to use, or the proper steps to do a correct fluid drain/refill, you probably need to find another shop.
Sincerely,
Macster.
