Nice pair!

So now that you have had the R for a bit, how different or similar are they?

I love the Aqua Blue, I saw a 997 in this color over the weekend and couldn't stop staring at it. It looks stunning.

not enough seat time in the CR yet but on startup, it certainly is more shouty and dare I say it more urgent in engine note and delivery.

My UK spyder is faster than my U.S spyder for some reason and I put it down to fuel quality in Michigan but it feels like my CR will potentially be even faster. It may be the cabin noise but for once, I rather have the windows wound up to hear the noise reverberating around the shell.....

The CR rides better than the spyder due to it's stiffer chassis and you can feel it. It doesn't have the glamour of the spyder but it certainly makes me feel good with it's better engine noise.

Oh, brakes are not bedded in and the PCCBs from the spyder provide me with so much more stopping power. Here's hoping that they will wear in in the next 100 miles.....

this deserves a proper writeup but I haven't had the time to put in the mileage and with better weather, it looks like the spyder will get more use..... well, until next time.

Do both cars have PSE?

I had no idea you had two Spyders. I wonder if it's the fuel or if Porsche used different engine management settings due to emissions?

The stiffer chassis definitely makes sense on the R but I'm surprised the ride is better.

Looking forward to hearing more when you get some miles under your belt.

My twins were more like negative images of each other. My Spyder was black with white. The Cayman R is white with black.

Didn't have the Spyder long enough to take any good photos.

So far, I'm lovin' the Cayman!

yes. both cars have PSE and indeed the CR has a better ride. The CR also feels a bit more willing to rotate if that makes any sense. I'm going to get a test drive in a 991 and compare but it's tough getting demos without PDK. So far, I am still not regreting getting 2 987 chassis cars

edit: I thought you were asking about the CR vs the London spyder. The U.S spyder doesn't have PSE/LiON battery/PCCB otherwise is the same. Could it be down to the PSE? don't think so.

Khooni, IMO you picked the best colors for those particular cars.

Where in Michigan is your other spyder? I'm originally from Michigan. I lived there for the first 31 years of my life. There aren't many months of the year where the spyder is usable there... :-(

Hi Jimmy,

The R is still at Sharkwerks (I keep having them add things). I've been driving the RS for the last month.

Assuming that those tweaks do what I expect -- if I'd never bought the RS, I'd probably never have felt the 'need' for one, but that genie's out of the bottle and it would be hard to live without the RS at this point. That said, I've been a mid-engine guy for a long time and the R is pretty close (come on, tweaks!) to exactly what I was looking for.

I'll know more after I drive the car back to SoCal.

My family's from Monroe, MI near Toledo Ohio. Spyder's hibernating in a garage there and my bro-in-law makes sure it gets driven at least once every month. The rest of the time, it's just being trickle charged and awaiting my return.

Other than the Irish hills, there just aren't nice roads to drive unlike SF

Yes - I got some 18" OZ Alleggerita wheels for track use. The rubber is less expensive as are the wheels - I could replace all 4 for the cost of one OEM wheel! Plus they are light - 18# up front and 20# in the rear.

My wife's very good friend is from Monroe. I'm from West Bloomfield. What color is the spyder in Monroe?
