Opinions invited on wheel retrim and possibly painting the wheel trim piece.
Opinions invited. I'm about to send my wheel off in the morning to have it trimmed in Alcantara. It'll match the 2010 GT3 RS wheel with one alteration, I want the stitching to be in yellow. Like this, but yellow stitched...
Now, I've been thinking. Since I'm going to the hassle of getting my wheel retrimmed and losing use of my car for over a week because of it, what about making another change to the "T" piece?!!
My car is Arctic Silver with Arctic Silver centre console and Arctic Silver dash trim. So, why not the wheel? What do you think - look good, YES or NO? Or perhaps another colour?
Arctic should be a subtle change. Opinions please.

sounds great to me, matching the Artic Silver would be nice. Good time to mount the wheel on the proper side of the car too!

For that to work I'd have to start driving on the right hand side of the road....scary!
Thanks for the response. It should be subtle but nice and glossy and not matt. I'm thinking worth a try

I like the idea of an arctic steering wheel "T" piece. It will complete the stripe across the dash.
I also think that the horseshoe near the shifter in yellow would complement the yellow on the wheel nicely. But then you might want to consider yellow belts/door pulls/etc.

The center stripe in yellow on the wheel will look great. Are they using Alcantara for this or another material? If it is Alcantara you might ask them how much it would cost to cover the silver trim around the shifter with the same material (if it's possible).
Painting the center portion of the wheel Arctic Silver is also a great idea.

Did you special order the belts in Silver or change them after the fact? Usually black interior has Red belts.

Consider sun glare off of a glossy surface. I don't know if that's possible from steering wheel but it's not good for the dash. ( Learned this in high school with my 1st car)

you could get it painted matt black like the slightly newer OEM one.
I agree that silver could be reflective so you may want to reconsider.
So where is the trim shop and would they do other pieces as well?

I spoke to my local body shop. Not that it's important but they are Aston and Bentley approved. I've used them for years. The owner quoted me £60 to paint the plastic "T" section without actually seeing it.
