Hello all,
I've got factory 19-inch wheels that are left overs from Project Cayman S, as Porsche Cars NA left them with us. I do not want to and cannot make any money from them, so I will offer them for sale with all proceeds going to two worthwhile charities: Lung cancer research and/or a school local to Excellence that is challenged in these times (it is a public school and I don't have kids attending school there).
I'd like to see them go to a Rennlister for a good price, so here's what they are:
19-inch 987 wheel/tire set
$2198.14 (2 19x8 front wheels, list)
$2198.14 (2 19x9.5 rear wheels, list)
$223.09 (Porsche crest center caps, set)
$0 (custom wheel finish in Seal Gray, code 6B4/Y1)
$4888.75 (total, list)
PRICE: $1500 OBO*
CONDITION, WHEELS: They came to Excellence in used condition. We had them painted at our cost. They look "photo good" or "nice street car good," but are not full concours due to a couple of runs and spots where paint coverage is only okay. These are so minor that I will probably have to point them out to you. The only damage — aside from a rock chip or two — occurred when the tires were mounted. The wheel shop did not have the right centering wedge and slightly marred the soft, fresh paint by the lug holes. This is very minor, and there is no curb rash. As for function: they balanced nicely and seem perfectly true. I know of no mechanical issues, but these wheels are sold as-is, with no warranty — as they are used.
A set of mounted and balanced Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires (235/35R19 front, 265/30R19 rear), and working TPMS sensors are included. The tires have seen a partial track day, some street usage, and a 600-mile test on our Road Test Loop with Patrick Long. I would guess they have less than 2500 miles in total on them. I suspect these still have some life in them (1-2 track days?) but cannot predict what your mileage will be. The MPSCs are N-spec up front and non-N-spec at the rear. This brought a flurry of safety warnings from one reader (and rennlister) I like a great deal, but this is what PCNA sent and we decided to run them. Any buyer will need to make their own determination as to the safety of this setup, but I will say this much: I view it as the driver's job to manage grip at both ends of the car, and this setup caused no problems for me, on track and on the street in the wet or dry. Two professional ALMS drivers failed to find any fault with this setup, nor did any other road testers. That said, it is the buyer's decision to use this N-spec/non-N-spec setup.
Please PM me for further details: I am happy to answer any questions!
*100% of proceeds will be donated to either Hamilton School of Novato or 2011 Porsche Race Car Classic benefitting lung cancer research at my discretion. This is a CASH ONLY deal (I will be happy to furnish receipts to the buyer to confirm their money went to charity, and am also happy to try and figure out how they get the tax benefit so long as that is not a hassle), and LOCAL pickup only (Novato, CA 94949)

Nearly the same pic, but it's what I got easily right now.
(when I can downsize the other photos, I think you will see I am severely downplaying how nice these wheels look, but that is for the viewer to decide).
As you can see, these are ready to bolt on. Just need to be filled and checked for pressure, and valve stem caps (sorry, I didn't get any extras from Porsche).

Tire sizes are 235/35R19 front and 265/30R19 rear.
And this reminds me: The front PS2s have feathering at their outer edges (yes, we use the cars here...) and the MPSCs show similar use. None took any nails at any point to my recollection.
Edited this into first post, plus a little more. As you can tell, I don't sell stuff often. I have a few other items from Project Cayman I'd be willing to let go on the cheap as well:
-Boxster Spyder side vents (two outers, one inner). SOLD
-987/997 standard lower center console in black. Very nice. SOLD
-987S exhaust system, complete with both catalysts. $1000
As above, all money goes to charity

Pete, are the side vents identical to these:

If so I'll take them. What exactly do you mean by inner/outer? Will I need another inner to install?
Thanks!

P.S. Ah, I see you are from Michigan. You might see if you can find a fellow 987er who will be willing to come get these with cash and ship them to you. I'd prefer not to ship stuff.

Forgive me, gentlemen, if I am less responsive over the holiday weekend.
I will, however, check PMs and the forum and try to honor first dibs against who actually shows up at the Excellence offices to take this stuff outta here...
Have a great weekend all!![thumbsup](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/bigok.gif)

Still haven't heard back on the side vents, and I really would prefer not to ship, so those are up for grabs. Ditto on the center console and exhaust.
Best,

Some pics of the Seal Gray set, which are very light sensitive. Sometimes look dark, other times not very dark.
Close-up shows how hard it is to spot the flaw/mars by the bolt holes, as well as the level of gloss in the paint (check the reflections near the caliper, of the holes in the rotor for instance). I wouldn't redo these anytime soon, and I am pretty ****. These wheels are very nice, with NO curb rash whatsoever and minimal use. They were custom-painted by a high-end body shop in SF.
