I've used dental floss in the past and it works well. You'll need the ultra fine floss and I would also buy some clay or adhesive remover for any remaining residue.

The model designation works well on the Black paint, it's subtle and doesn't take away from the rear. I do like the idea of removing the Boxster and centering the Spyder, here is a link, look about half way down the page: https://rennlist.com/forums/987-foru...ur-spyder.html

I ordered my Boxster this way back in 2006. Love the clean look from the rear.

I remove emblems, logos, or writing off all my cars. I use the waxed dental floss or very thin fishing line. I've had good luck with the fishing line because it's stronger than dental floss.

Prior to the dental floss trick, park the car in the sun, to warm-up the adhesive.

Easy to do. Here's mine. Dental floss and hot water.

(I decided to ditch the 'porsche' emblem on the wing)

How do you reaffix the Spyder emblem if you just want to remove Boxster and center it?

Probably just buy a new one, and re-apply. You could get a paint to match one from Bumperplugs too. That would be cool! Subtle.

they sell new 'spyder' emblems at suncoast. I bought 'guards red' spray paint from the local hobby store and sprayed multiple layers.

Becareful with over-spraying the emblem near that beauty...

I did what Joe did and dental flossed off the original and went with a centered Spyder badge. You can get a new Spyder badge for a few bucks (i dont know how few the dealership threw it in) and that has the stickem already applied and you simply peel off the protective tape and try and make sure you center it right and you're done.

Looks 1000x better, imho.

I reused the Spyder badge by applying some double faced tape to it, just like the factory does. Took me 20 minutes and saved me a few bucks

I did this on another car and ground down some strong magnets and glued them to the back. That way it was easy to remove when it was time to polish/wax.

Interesting idea. The Spyder has an aluminum lid, though.

I think he said there was a magnet on the back side as well holding it in place.
