Default Certificate of Authenticity?

All,

I have a new 2011 Spyder and never received my certificate of authenticity. I was told by my dealer that he heard Porsche were no longer sending those out. Can anyone confirm?

thanks,
B

It's something you have to pay for.

Sometimes, your dealer will pony up the money for you, but it is a chargeable item.

When I got my CA, half the options were missing on it.

Either my car isn't authentic, or they got tired writing. What do you want for fifty bucks?

I paid $95 for my 928 Certificate of Authenticity and it wasn't accurate. I had the original window sticker and the options sticker in the trunk which had the correct options list. Only reason I bought it was to show in PCA concours which requires it if you compete in full concours class.

Interesting.. I have received one for other Porsche's in the past. I had just assumed it was part of purchasing the vehicle. Guess my new dealer did not purchase it. Thanks for the info.

Default COA

I think the COA is part of the post-sale goodies that you get or don't get depending on your relationship with the dealer/sales folks

some guys get clear side markers without asking
my sales guy said his "best customers" get them

I ended up with two COAs on my first Cayman, one from the sales guy with a nice letter thanking me for the purchase and the second one from PCNA as present for attending Croctoberfest in Atlanta...both were accurate

p.s. go to dspyda.com and register your Spyder, congrats and what are the details, color?

I got one (COA) for both the 2011 GT3 & 2011 Spyder. I didn't have to pay for it so I assume that the dealer did it for me.
