Default WTB lightweight rear hatch for my Cayman S

I have a Cayman S that I race occasionally. The car is only used on the track and I am looking for ways to reduce weight. I have seen a very nice hatch being used by a couple of club racers but I don't know who makes it. Any advice/leads would be very much appreciated.

Me too !

If I can't find one I may have one made, I have a CF guy that can make anything I need I just didn't want to do the mold for just one.

Ok, if I could build 1 for me and 2 for sale this may be worth me actually building some.
Would you guys like them in Carbon Fiber ? CF costs a little more than FG.
I am thinking a Lexan window as well for the light weight.

I'd be in for a CF hatch with Lexan window.

Prefer CF. How would you say the quality compares to OEM - fit, finish, looks etc etc.

What would the estimated price be?

Ok, I will talk to my CF guy and have him get an idea what he will charge to do a batch of them for me. I did find another one available but it is more a cosmetic hatch with looks in more importance than light weight. The one I am going to have made will have light weight as primary concern for racing with a lexan window, Looks will be important also as no one wants their race car to look like crap, but light weight will be primary.
Will update as I get more info.

Spoke to my CF guy, he is finishing up the 996/986 hoods this week for me,along with some other pieces. I am getting him an original OEM Cayman rear hatch to look at and use for a mold next week and then we are going to sit down and discuss how much weight we think we can save and what they will cost to make and sell.
I am not sure what shipping will cost but for those who are interested it shouldn't be too bad since I am central located here in Texas. I also travel to the NASA Nationals and number of other races so I could possibly arrange delivery at no charge if traveling to your area for a race.

Would you consider weighing with/without a lexan rear window? Not sure people interested in this part would really want a glass window, I guess :/

Add me to the interest list.

As far as I am concerned it also needs to be strong enough to be able to support a large wing attached to it.

My original thought on the wing, because my car also will have a wing, is that the wing would be chassis mounted or possibly mounted to the sides where the hatch and body/qtr panels meet. I figured that would be more supportive than any hatch and also allow it to be made lighter.
But I will take this into consideration and let you know. Since I too will have a large wing there will be some way to have a wing with this hatch setup I promise. I will also let all know the wing/front splitter setup I am going with so if someone wants it it could be a complete package. I will also do some testing to be sure the wing and front splitter are a close match for down force and proper handling.

I think it will be easy to keep the stock glass if thats what someone would want, from what I have seen so far the glass is flat and has a lip to mount the stock glass or the lexan which ever is prefered.
I will double check tho and advise either way.
