BMW 1M Coupe v Cayman S

I actually just picked mine up a couple of weeks ago. Still following the break in procedure. It is an amazing car right out of the box, even keeping it under 5500rpm. It is very well balanced, great turn in. I really like the steering feel. It feels lighter than it is. The short wheelbase makes it a little twitchy. It is very easy to get the traction control kicking in even in third gear in the dry. The ride is actually quite comfortable. I will try to answer any questions as I get more seat time. It is really great car for the money.

The 1M was dyno'd recently at 330 WHP! That would indicate it's making over 375 crank HP, which shouldn't surprise anyone since the 335 is running over 330 crank HP. And you can bet the new F10 M5 will run way over the 560 HP they are stating - probably closer to 600 HP. I don't know why, but for some reason BMW is intentionally underrating their turbo engines bigtime.
I haven't driven the 1M, but it's probably an amazing car - maybe the equal of the Cayman R because of the monster engine. I don't think anything can match the handling feel of the Cayman though - the chassis is just too good.
