Has anyone tried a BlendMount 2000 series mount for a Val 1 radar det?
I have an '06 Box S w/ the std. mirror, and would like to give this mount a try.
TIA,
Phil

Wonder how it will fly in AZ...?
Trip before this last one I got pulled over at the western most Williams AZ exit (this on I-40) by AZ state trooper. (Failure to signal.)
The trooper gave me a warning but the trooper was a bit upset by the NAV unit mounted by a large suction cup next to left of the rear view mirror and the V1 with its windshield mount to the left of the NAV unit.
The NAV unit and V1 were high enough to not block my vision and in fact when I was driving into the sun and had the visor down the visor blocked more of my view through the windshield than the NAV/V1 units, but the officer was insistent that the two items be mounted where AZ law required them.
Not wishing to upgrade from a warning to a citation (and confiscation) -- it was hinted at by the trooper he could cite me for the items being illegally mounted/located -- I moved the NAV unit to the lower left hand corner of the driver's side windshield and removed the V1 placing it on the passenger's seat, at least until out of AZ.
This last trip I remembered to bring the sun visor V1 mount/holder and used it on the passenger's side visor while in AZ.
But the BlendMount 2000 -- I viewed a coupe of on-line pics -- looks like it might blend in well enough to not be considered illegally mounted.
Sincerely,
Macster.

I use the Blendmount with an Escort on my 06 CS with std. mirror - I'm pretty sure it would be the same fitment for the Boxster (just the part that holds the detector would be different).
I like it because it is a very solid mount (no jiggling like suction mounts) and is located in a nice visible (to driver) position beneath the rear view mirror. It is also a little less visible to those outside the car, since there is no tell-tale suction cup on the windshield.

That's a good question - don't know if it will or not, I guess time will tell. Does anyone know the weight limit of the adhesive they use to glue on mirrors?

Both the V1 and the NAV unit have come loose -- the suction mounts give way sometimes (in colder weather) -- and have fallen only to be stopped by their power cords around the mirror bracket and the mirror bracket is still secure and as near as I can tell as secure as the day it left the factory.
Also, since the rear view mirror is hand adjustable which means of course it has to withstand the delicate as well as the ham-fisted driver the mount has to have alot of margin built in or these things would be coming loose/falling off all the time from the rough handling.
AFAIK, they do not come loose or fall off.
Sincerely,
Macster.

Not a scientific answer but I've had a V1 for years installed in first my Boxster and now my Turbo and for over a year now a NAV unit and as some kind of protection against either one coming loose and falling to the floor I wrap the power cords around the rear view mirror mounting bracket.

Thanks for posting this. I just ordered one for my Escort Redline. The install looks super clean and positioned perfectly! I'll post some pics when I get it.
