There was once a full tonneau cover from the Porsche factory...

I think they should come up with another one for the Spyder for a quick snap-on waterproof solution in case the weather changes suddenly while your car is parked on the street! After all, isn't the Spyder the modern Speedster of this era? I don't think that pure blue 'thing' that will debut at the Paris Motor Show is representative of the original lightweight Speedster spirit! z356

Old or not, here is a link I would like everyone to use. I think this is the ideal cover for our cars, the guy just doesn't make one for Spyders, yet. The more people that contact him and ask for it, the more likely we are to get it made.

Thanks,

I contacted Ron and here's the response I got:

"Hi Aaron- Would the cover requested be for top up -- or top down? I can make any number of covers needed and only need to create the needed templates which I do myself by taking the needed paterns from a suject car. Im in Florida on holiday now but will try to find a subject car in Toronto to use as needed to make the patern once I return in the New Year.

What weather factors are you wishing to protect against the most? Sun- Heat build up-- rain -- Salt air?? also let me know if you are wanting a top up cover or a type of tonneau cover?

Thanks for your interest and all the best for the New Year!

Cheers

Ron"

I'm thinking that top-up design would be best (hoping that it would work with the top-down as well); mainly for protection against UV/heat build-up and rain.

What do you guys think??

Default Any Update on Cockpit Covers for the Spyder?

I have been checking around, and I have not seen a good tonneau cover option for the Spyder. Has anyone come up with anything? If we got a few people interested, we might be able to get something custom built with a group order.

Count me in for the group buy. I also wished they made a cover that provides protection when you have no passenger while moving.

Default Group buy

I am taking photos and measurements from someone who makes tonneau covers for 911's. He is going to look at the feasibility of putting something together for a group buy. He may need a Spyder in the Toronto area to see in person. If anyone knows of one, we may need to connect the car with the tonneau maker.
