Default Muffler delete?

Has anyone done a muffler delete on their 987? Heard one on a 986, and it sounded pretty good.

Since the secondary CATs are part of the mufflers removing the muffler would not be CARB legal. Also might be bad for the environment. Also, why would you want a loud car?

The only delete's I've heard have been at the track and even there they are obnoxiously loud and at some tracks wouldn't even pass the db limits (ie: Lime Rock).

I installed a Tubi exhaust on a cayman s and it sounded sweet plus it was legal. If you just want to make a little more noise for free there is a clamp above the exhaust tip that you can loosen, slide out of the way, then tighten.

Thats exactly what I want to do. How does moving that clamp make the exhaust louder? Does it have any negative performance effects?

It's a crossover pipe between the two mufflers. It shouldn't cause any performance issues. I believe all you need is a 13mm socket, extension, and ratchet.

Worked great! There's a slight bit of drone, but overall, just the sound I was looking for. Plus it's reversible.

Can someone elaborate on 'flintworks' instructions? I don't understand what he was telling Bill to do. I looked at my exhaust and I don't get it.
