Cool SharkWerks Cayman S in Excellence April 2009 Issue

Hey guys,
The April '09 Excellence is starting to hit shelves and its cover story is a neat one: Blakt Out's supercharged 997S vs. SharkWerks' Cayman S RS350 vs. a modified 997 Turbo. The authors drive the three cars for days, over hundreds of miles along the coast of northern California and there are many beautiful pictures in the magazine.

It's a good roundup of the benefits of each platform and shows what you might expect from each as a street car if you choose to modify the engine, suspension, and chassis.

There's a preview of the article on Excellence's site here.

Subscribers should be receiving the magazine any day, and it will be on shelves soon after.

Congrats on the great review - just curious though why you didn't install a TBD or LSD with your package?

That car would have been even more amazing with a Quaife. KS-CS, do you have one? I'd love to hear how well it works if you do.

(I got to be one of the drivers... so I really liked the Cayman... ALOT.)

I wish I did, unfortunately my car is a Tip (and no one makes one for the Tip 987s). Those who have installed them, seem to be very happy with the improvement, particularly on the track.

Please tell me you're not a conspiracy theorist on this too. Gimme a break. Did you read the article?

The Cayman S was amazing. No reason for croc owners to have short ***** syndrome. Really.

Wouldn't have been faster. Would have been as good or better handling for much less. I said this in the article. But your theory is silly.

My car would have still killed it on any track.

Again, I LOVED that Cayman, and have many quotes in the mag accordingly. Just gotta keep it in the realm of possible reality.

Or the TPC turbo kit.

Those bastards also didn't let me strap on my rocket boosters because Porsche didn't want mine to outshine the Carrera GT. (Playing)

Just saying that Excellence didn't ASK that the Cayman not have LSD. That's what you insinuated, or at least what I thought.

Regardless, the car was amazing. I loved it.

Cheers!

hmm the TPC kit is fairly well priced, probably costs the same to install as the SC for the 997.

yeah. That thing is sweet. However, I just noted that Softronics actually has it, on their site, that they produce CONVERSION kits to put the GT3 engine in a 987!

Oh wow. Okey doke.

I thought I might sell my car for enough to buy a used early Cayman S and then put that engine in it. Maybe I'll just hold on!

Yeah that was a great article. The car looks great too! Personally, I would take the Cayman of those 3 cars.
