Default Rear wipers?

I know they're an option, but I have yet to see one in person or on the lot at the dealership?
Anybody have one? Comments?

To answer your question, no I don't have one and have only seen pics of them. If you can find a 997 with one, I think they are pretty similar in appearance.
I do have a couple comments, fwiw. I considered getting one on my 06, but decided not to. So far, I have not regretted it. I didn't think they looked that great, and they take a bit of space away from the rear trunk (my main reason not to get). If my CS was a daily driver in a snowy region, I would probably have gotten one. In rain, I haven't found the lack of one to be a problem.

hope that helps,
Dave

Just put a coating of Rain-X once a year and you're good to go.

I should have explained that the primary concern would be snow removal.
The rear glass angle is pretty shallow and I would imagine it would build up snow pretty quickly, much quicker than a rear heat glass defroster could manage.
I haven't seen one so I was unaware of the rear 'trunk' space implications, thanks.

If snow is building up faster than the rear defroster can melt it, the weather is too severe for driving this car.

Perhaps someone should let Porsche know this, they seem to be under the assumption that, with proper winter wheels and tires, all of their cars can be driven in winter.

I'm glad you made me aware of this, now I have to go and cancel the order at my local Porsche dealer.

Thanks

I'm glad I could be of service.

Seriously though, you do realize that I was being facetious...

I used to drive my 911 in the winter too, but if it's snowing that much, you're not going to be driving anything but a 4 wheel drive.

I really don't think you need to get the rear wipers.

Drive my CS year round. I have had no issue with snow build up on the rear window when driving (no rear wiper).

I own a 07 CS and have driven it all winter in Minnesota. It works very well in snow with the right tires. The rear wiper is useful in the snow when you are more likely to be sitting in traffic and get an accumulation on the rear window. I understand others feel differently, but my car is a dd and the wiper has proven to be useful, even if it is not very attractive.

Where is the switch located?
Single speed? Delay/Adjustable?
