Advantages buying a used Certified Porsche from the dealer?
I was looking at the Porsche USA website yesterday and they don't make it very clear whether or not the Certified cars come with extra warranty. The don't even make it clear when the warranty is on a new Porsche. From what I could see on the web site, its 4 years but no mileage listed.
The site noted that the Certified cars could have a 6 yr./100k warranty.
If you buy a used Porsche that is still under warranty, I assume you can buy an extended warranty. How much do they normally run, what is covered, and are they worth the money?

No the CPO warranty is not bumper to bumper. There is a brochure on the Porsche website that explains the limitations. I bought mine with a year and a half remaining on the new vehicle warranty and the CPO warranty kicks in after that.
Find one with a decent amount of new car warranty left and a CPO warranty tacked on behind that. And if you are close to any expensive service as stated so by the manual get that done as part of the purchase and don't forget to check the tires and pads.
Cheers

I think you're right about the bumper to bumper CPO coming soon. Just from a market perspective. They have to do something to get these cars moving off of the lot. Brands like Porsche are going to have a tough time with a slow economy and will need to do something to keep sales up. Just my $.02 or wishful thinking.
