Cayman TechArt Widebody Install at GMP Performance
I wanted to post some pics of a Cayman TechArt widebody install we are performing here at GMP Performance in Charlotte NC. This is a customers car who wants to build this car as a head turning street car. Here are the TechArt supplied pictures.
Here is a shot of the car (white, far left) at our open house right before we started on it.

I'm sorry but it looks better unmessed with,--or as a 3400R RUF. This looks like that LA company that takes trashed 996s, adds a bunch of cheap plastic, and tries to sell it as a 'upgraded' 997.

I like TechArt, but that front end - 'borrowing' styling cues from a car famous for its 'edgy' design simply doesn't work with cars with an underlying fluid style.
Time and time again, we see German tuners making truck loads of money out of making cars go faster and then blowing the profits on hideous body panels. And they don't learn.

Here are some additional photos of the install. The edges have been seamed and the gas door took alot to get it seamless. The other thing we did was cut the turn signal extensions so that the body line continues and are molding them into the front bumper.
