Default Tracking a Cayman S

To those who have tracked their Caymans, can you advise me as to the track specific mods you have made? I am especially interested in which Roll Bar (and cost), suspension (and cost), exhaust, and wheels. I am an advanced driver and instruct with numerous regions in the NE. Previous car was a 964 Euro Cup---I need something that is more dependable and "gas and go".

Lastly, how has the overall reliability been? I usually run 25-30 track days per year. For those who have had issues, does your dealership still honor the factory warantee, or do they void it because of the track use?

Thanks,
Mike

As stated, Caymanclub.net has lots of info. I am in the Northeast and have tracked my Cayman extensively (8k track miles) with very few problems. But there are some issues out there that you want to address before taking to the track. Feel free to PM me for details. --Joel

I've done 22 track days so far on my 06/06 build CS. The car has 21k on it. The only issues have been power steering, cooked cats and a valve cover leak. All fixed under warantee. Added the Mantis underdrive pulley and their oil sump extension for insurance. The only suspension mod are JIC coilovers that work great on a car that is a daily driver. For the track I've got 245/275x 18 Nittos on CCW wheels. Added GT3 brake ducts, PF97 pads and SRF. That's it!

P.S like to hear more details from Mooty and Joel

Only a little smoke (even with the oil sump extension) at Watkins Glen. After the first run I let the car idle for 5 mi. or so and no more smoke. Can't keep up with Joel! He said somthing about Hoosiers being like doing crack - expensive habit...........
