Well, I just got back from driving the route again - couple of comments - OMG, we're in for a good drive! The changes made after SpiderV6 and I drove it have improved things significantly. Additionally, the gravel has now washed away and we have some nice clean roads ready and waiting for us next weekend. I'm glad that I drove it again, as one of the roads we were due to use was closed, so that needed a minor adjustment, but otherwise I think that we'll have a blast.

Here's a summarry of my earlier posts...

i) Arrive with a full tank of gas. There is a gas station in Lambertville, but I don't know if it's open early on a Sunday, so you should fill up somewhere on the home stretch close to Lambertville.
ii) If you have 2 way radios, bring them, as we'll have them and can all tune into the same channel.
iii) Arriving early is good. Looks like we'll have a good turnout, so getting there early gives you time to grab a coffee and donut from the coffee shop around the corner on Bridge street and stand around talking with others and admiring the cars. I aim to be there nice and early.
iv) bring a camera and take lots of photos. I think I'll also be rigging my camcorder into the car to enjoy the ride.
v) If you have a map that covers upper bucks county, PA, then it will not hurt to bring it. The directions we've pulled together (I think) are pretty good, but on the off-chance that you get separated it will be good to have members of the group with maps.
vii) With this being a large group we may (as mentioned in an earlier post), depending upon final numbers, split the group into two and have them run in opposite directions in order to allow for less bunching and a more enjoyable ride.
viii) The route is designed with fast stretches, as well as slower (curvy) fun stretches. These speed differences will naturally spread out the group and allow you space to have fun. The run can be done without a navigator if you stay close to a car with a navigator, but it's best to have someone in the car directing, as I'd hate to see anyone get lost.
ix) The PCA is kindly sponsoring this run, so please come and find me (you know the car by now and I'll be wearing a PCA hat) when you arrive and sign in. This will get you a copy of the route and have you sign a PCA waiver that covers the organizers in case something bad happens.
x) Have fun, but be careful with your speed until we get out of Lamberville. It is a 25 mph zone until we get out of town and the police do sit there with radar - don't worry, we'll be out of town in a few minutes and I'd hate for us to get a police escort up to the NJ border.

My hope is that we get in and out of Lambertville before we attract too much attention.

We will be in and out of Lambertville in less than 1 hour.

As for passing opportunities - pass where it's legal and safe. The route has plenty of passing opportunities.

I have not posted the route. I'm keeping that buttoned down in order to maintain some element of surprise and also not tempt fate for us having some black and white escorts.

Those that are coming in from a distance and would like the route in advance can PM me the day before and I'll send it to them to allow them to familiarize themselves with the maps.

Should be a fun day, a good turnout and plenty of photo ops.

*************** DATE CHANGED **********************

Run will be this Saturday 4/14 NOT Sunday 4/15 for obvious weather reasons. Hope you can still make the run. All other details remain the same. Hope you can make it.

Thanks Tony for bumping this for me!

For all those that PM'ed me, this is not a drill - Yes, the above note is real.

The weather is looking crappy for Sunday and shows no sign of change (much as I'd hoped that it would), so rather than risk having a miserable time on Sunday and half of you not showing up, we decided to change the event to Saturday - same place, same time.

I'm sorry that some of you cannot make it - I was looking forward to meeting you guys and I know that everyone has been excited about this for a while - more the reason that it was a hard call for us to make in changing the day.

I hope that we still see most of you there!

Thanks to all who attended today - glad to hear that you had a good time. If you didn't make it, then hopefully we'll see you next time.

Nothing beats seeing a parking lot full of Porsches.

I was really impressed with the turn out and variety of cars that showed up - thanks to everyone! (although, I was surprised that we got only one Boxster).

If you go over to the main thread (in my signature below) you'll find some photos posted. Additionally, you'll find this link

http://web.mac.com/wellardmac/iWeb/...pringFling.html

which will take you to photos I've posted. As I get photos sent to me from others I'll add them to the page. The guys we had come along to photograph us along the route will give me their photos on Monday, so expect a big update on Monday evening.

Seems like this was a hit, so we'll plan on doing it again in June or July... just have to figure out another route.
