Default Painted wheels option

I've decided to buy a Cayman S after a test drive two weeks ago. I'm putting together my options.

On Porsche's website there is an option to have the wheel painted the same color as the exterior body. I'm interested in a triple black look. But, checking out the Porsche configurator, the standard Cayman S wheel doesn't appear to be fully black when the option is selected, unlike the other wheels with the same option. I prefer the base cayman S wheel over all the others in black.

I'm not sure if its a visual glitch or not. I know this is a nuanced question but if anyone knows the answer I'd appreciate it.

In case anyone wants to know, 07 Cayman S's were quoted to me as being available in September, but I'm not sure how reliable that info is.

The outside petals of the Cayman S wheel remain silver when you opt for the painted wheels. Only the rest of the wheel is painted in body color. You can see this more clearly if you select red or yellow as your exterior color on the website. You have to go with a different wheel if you want it to be completely painted in exterior color.

The 07 model year begins August 1. Also note that the Boxster line is going to have the SAME engine as the Cayman line with no corresponding price increase. That is a huge development and should prompt a consideration of the Boxster over the Cayman.

Thanks for the reply! I'll not go that route I think.

Interesting note about the boxter.

Alot of posts in various forums about the pricepoint of the Cayman S relative to other cars. In my view, the car is appropriately priced when very lightly optioned and with the purported 5k discount off MSRP not so much from a performance point of view but from an overall driving experience point of view.

I find the aesthetics -- both inside and out -- of the car coupled primarily coupled with the performance an exceptional combination. Yes, the Porsche name means alot to me as well. I just can't find that combination elsewhere. Not the boxter, the 335i, the M class Z4 coupe. Maybe the new M3 will be it, but until then...
