Default Max tire width from factory?

I plan to buy a Cayman in the near future. (I currently drive 2 air cooled Carreras)

Is the 265 width rear tire the widest tire that can be ordered on Porsche optional 19 wheels from the factory?

Excellence mentioned 295 rears, but this may have been a typo. All Cayman s' I see at dealerships have 265 as max width on 19s.

Thank you,
Marc

I believe there are only two tire choices right now (Conti or Michelin) and both are 235/265.

In order to put a 295 on the rear you would need to go to a 255 in the front. The car doesn't need wider tires and 255's up front would probably tramline too much.

911's have wider tires in the back mainly because they have much more weight in the rear as a percentage of the car's weight.
