I have a triple black boxster as seen in the photo, therefore I am conserned with sun exposure. I can't wash/clean my car myself, but I am planning on using protective sprays after getting it cleande.
1. For the softtop I see Raggtopp fabric protector is recommended. Anyone have bad experience?
2. For the leather seats there is something new on wolfsteins.com called "Convertible Leather and Protectant Kit" It's cleaner and protectant. Has anyone used it?
3. What would you recommend for the dashboard? I don't know what it's made of...as well as other trim pieces...

 

1. Raggtopp is fine, as is the Porsche protectant. Shouldn't need to do it on a new car for a while.
2. I like soffener (www.colorplus.com) or spinneybeck (leatherz.com) or have head leatherique is good.
3. Lexol Vinylex on the plastics works for me, unless you order full leather anything without stitching is plastic/vinyl

 

are you sure your dash is full leather? if you dont see french stitching on it, it's not leatehr, then all you need is just wipe with damp cloth and dry it with another towel.

if dash is leather, then use griot garage's leather lotion or leatherique or lexol. all pretty good.

 

I am just hoping that my dash does not do what my 01 did. It developed a severe wrinkle that started at the front/ glass area and after a year or so it had pulled back about 1 inch from the glass and was wrinkled all the way down to about the middle of the dash. It really looked bad and was going to expensive to replace. Glad that car is gone, as I feel that the 987 interior is of better quality. Time will tell.

I don't know what my dash is. There are no stitches, but it looks leatherish. It must be plastic / vynil. My concern is it's black. I don't want it to crack or fade.

if it's leather dash, murat, it will show on your window sticker.
also, look at the top center of the dash, if you see two diagonal crease like bikini lines, then u dont have leather dash. if it's standard dash, it will not crack even in CA sun for the next 10 years. unless you are keeping it that long, stop worrying ;-)

 

Yes, it does have the crease lines. Just wipe it with damp cloth? Is that how you maintain it?

after damp cloth, you should wipe it again with dry cloth.
do not put chemical on it. such as armorall

sorry, i take it back.
dont put armour all on dash.
there are two different lexol. one for leather, one for vinyl. dont put leather lexol on your dash. the vinyl one MAY work, but i never used it.

 

Lexol vinyl treatment has a nice low gloss finish. Don't recommend their leather products at all.
