Watched the Caymen race at 48hrs this weekend but never heard official results. Anyone know how it did in the sprint and/or enduro?

The car will be fast once Ernie gets it dialed in. It gave up a little to my car in and the USA Cups in the straights, but will be able to easily out corner our semi-trailing arm suspensions, especially at bumpy tracks like Sebring.

Ernie was running 245/285 Hoosiers, custom cage, some form of boxster headers (S car go?), and a different front bumper (well it was the stock one with cut out the fog lights and mesh grills).

I'm sure you could call him for more details (www.mantisracing.com)

I followed the Cayman around for a few laps. I didn' thtink it was slow in the straight, in fact I thought it pulled me just slightly. I had no problem out braking it though. I think the car can be a winner, but just needs to be raced more. I was impressed with the level of prep, for such a limited amount of time available before the race. Very nice car.

One other thing I noticed with it was a persistant amount of oil smoke coming from the exhaust in a few corners. Not sure what that was about, maybe some blow by, but it looked bothersome. Sure wish Porsche made these with a LSD and dry sump.

It is a dry sump engine, isn't it?

I only wish it was a dry sump! "Integrated dry sump" as Porsche calls it is NOT a true dry sump.
