Default Flat tire/low tire warning when tires are fine

When I start my 2007 cayman I get a warning about my tire being flat. This message used to be a low psi warning with all tires showing -4 psi. but now as of yesterday it is saying the right rear tire is completely flat at -7psi. All tires are fine on pressure. As I'm driving and I scroll to the tire pressure screen it shows my accurate tire pressure which is ok. But the tpms light and the red alert light stay on after I acknowledge the flat/low tire warning. Any suggestions on what could be causing this are greatly appreciated.

How old are your TPMS sensors? I was seeing similar behavior in my Cayman's TPMS sensors until one eventually failed. I elected to have them all replaced.

Cycle the wheel/tire selection and have the TPMS relearn as the first step. Your TPMS batteries might be failing. There are tools that will measure the TPMS remaining battery life. TPMS battery life is time based plus number of use cycles. Highly recommended to have new TPMS installed with new tires around 5-6 years. I have a set on my track wheels and tires and use the 5-6 six year rule. Many after market options, There is no calibration required, just the TPMS learn process.

this...I had the same issue and this was my fix. and they don't have to be Porsche sensors. Your tire shop can use programmable sensors. But you have to get there before they completely fail or they will not be able to read the code out of the bad sensor.

Having similar issues on my 2011 BS. I reset them often. Probably need new ones.

Thank you. Glad to hear it sounds like the sensors are just dead. I'm going to try to cycle the learning function a few times before buying new sensors.

-7 doesn't mean 7 below zero (totally flat???), it means 7 below setpoint. New txmitters should sort out the issue
