First of all, I was fortunate to live near San Luis Obispo for just a few months and man, the driving roads in CA are awesome. This video brings back those memories. But, to be the contrarian, I drove the Pacific Coast Highway last summer from end to end, in a stock 2007 Cayman S, and I really don't remember thinking "Man, I wish I had an extra 100 horses". To some degree, every iteration of Porsche is a reflection of the era it was produced in. Sure, they get a little quicker over time but then they also get heavier and less analog. I had a lot of fun with my 1961 356B in high school, with it's massive 60 hp engine. It's all relative!

i'm very familiar with that road and there are a lot of bicyclists on it. eventually one will come upon them halfway through one of the many blind bends and, if one is "wringing it out" they may well, if quick enough, succeed in going halfway into the other lane to avoid them...of course if one temps fate often enough there will be another car coming the other way at the same time and disaster will strike...
