I did.. when I painted my 911 i pulled them out, kinda wish i pulled these ones out as well. those are the area's of this paintjob where i have to do some small touch ups. but over all.. it came out really good. I use a nice paint gun and I'm quite happy with how the paint and clear settled.

Really want to do the turbo as well before spring but not sure I'm gonna have time to get the paint done plus the turbo.

This is my 911 paint job. Done in my garage as well.

Yea I remember your build on the 996 forum. You have some really nice skills.

ive painted my 924, a Boxster and a 914. I don’t think my clear coat laid down as smoothly as yours. I spent hours wet sanding

Thanks

ya for me I thin out my clear so it will relax easier. seems to work for me but the down side I usually get a run or two I have to wet sand out. this one had three areas I had to wet sand which was a little disappointing. I hoping to not have to wet sand majority of this car. my draft is quite good in the poor mans booth I made and so far it seems to be doing a really good job.

as long as the paint can be wet-sanded and polished, and you've got plenty of time and patience, there is little, IME, need for any kind of special paint booth.

thats the same thing i tell people when talking about painting my own cars. Wet sanding makes a world of difference.

Iv painted 9 of my own cars now and about 5 for others(3porsches)

in these last pics, the parts are not wet sanded or buffed yet.

thank you.

wing is back on! Still need to wet sand and buff wing. It will be easier to do mounted so it can be held. Still need to paint the end wings(dont know what you call them) black and put those on the end of the wing.

also did some buffing on the roof as well get the rear bumper clear coated. Being on vacation… so fun.
