Default 2005 Boxster advice

I have the opportunity to purchase a 2005 Boxster and have done quite a bit of reading around the possible inherent engine issues. I have owned 3 986 ( 2001x2, 2002)all without issues. No IMS failures or cylinder scoring issues. Changed oil frequently and kept up maintenance.
This vehicle is immaculate, 2 owners, 17,000 miles, $23,500. All maintenance records, brand new tires.
Sounds and drives well.
What say you all??

That's very low mileage for a 16 year old car. I replaced the IMS bearing in in my 2005 Boxster S (Feb '05 build date) at 93,000 miles and the original bearing seemed to be in good condition. When I removed the bearing seal, all of the grease had been replaced by very black motor oil. The risk with a very low mileage car is that the bearing may fail prematurely if the previous owner changed the oil by mileage instead of by time. Another factor seems to be how the car was driven. If the previous owner only warmed up the engine by idling it or made very short trips it could cause the bearing to fail prematurely. I would have a prepurchase inspection performed by a reputable shop that specializes in Porsches.
