Default Cayman R 2012 question about phone connection

This is kind of a unique project that the guts of a caiman are being put into a 964 from soup to nuts all the way from the engine to the air conditioner being swapped over. There is the connection in the consul that's labeled iPod, does this interface with an iPhone with an adapter so that it can be used hands-free.Name: photo227.jpg

On my '12 CS, the iPod connection is there to play music from an iPhone or iPod. I do not believe it does anything else; the PCM in the car provides hands-free Bluetooth connectivity for using the phone.
