I can only tell you that I do all my own maintenance and repairs and as a result I have disconnected my battery several times. Even for multiple days on a few occasions.

Never was faced with a stereo system issue as a result.

I too have an 05 Boxster

Replaced battery a couple of times in my '05 Boxster S. No issues here either.

Oh... when the battery is out of the car, windows won't retract slightly (as they normally do) and door latch may not be set to correct position. Do NOT swing that door closed as it may just hit out-of-position latch and/or out-of-position window may not be in correct spot yet. Hope this makes sense.

All returns to normal once powered up and you go through a start cycle.
