I can't agree more! Totally makes sense to keep forums separated by models. Not just the fact that people gravitate to others of like interests, but it helps us to be more efficient and effective with our posts.
A 987 forum section is a great advancement for the forum. Thank you rennlist.com !
Perhaps somebody more knowledgeable than myself could post a list of changes or unique features of the 2005-2012 Boxster and 2005-2012 Cayman
I chose a 2011 987.2 based upon 3 features; hydraulic steering, direct injection motor without IMS (introduced in 2008), and it is a smaller car than the 981
According to Wikipedia Porsche claimed the 987 shared only 20% of it parts with the previous 986 model
The Cayman/CaymanS transfer is now complete. We had 4 volunteers who helped with the chore and did a wonderful job. Please thank absoluteczech, foodbiker, Schwinn and rich c4s. To the astonishment of all the moderators, they sorted out roughly 8,500 threads overnight. An amazing job. I just finished mopping up - and that forum is now empty and will hopefully be removed soon.
All the moderators want to thank you for your patience. If you see posts that are obviously in the wrong location, please use the red-triangle-! icon to report them. We'll sort them out as quickly as we can.
And thanks again to the team of 4 who did their job about 4 times faster than we ever thought possible!
I've been around forums for some time. And this is the first time I have seen that big of change made in what appeared to be a seamless operation. A toast to you all for pulling it off and to the owners for recognizing the need to make the change. This is very impressive. Good job everybody
