Default New to me 987 CS

It's been a long time coming but I finally pulled the trigger on my first Porsche! It took me about 6 months to find her and I picked her up just over a week ago. After driving my neighbors' 991TS I was worried that I would be underwhelmed by any other Porsche that I would drive but i'm happy that I was wrong. So far, this has been the most enjoyable car I have ever driven. I'm new to this community and the support here is promising.

2006 Cayman S, Guards Red, Manual, 20k miles

I've already purchased the LED Spars and Zunsport mesh side vent grills. I'm not sure what to do about wheels yet but i'll need to replace the R888's at some point before winter arrives in CO. I don't intend on DD'ing it but I do plan to take it out on clear winter days. It came with a Fabspeed Supercup exhaust, power steering cooler, and undisclosed upgraded brake components. The car is in nearly perfect condition and I couldn't be happier! I don't have any great photos yet but i'll post some when I take them.

Haha. I'm glad it came with them. I was also a big fan of it coming the GR Belts and GR painted Sport Seat backs. It tied it all together for me.

Wheels look great as is IMHO. RED and black are challenging to maintain but spectacular when prepped right (lasts 15” of driving IIRC.

Imagine it with a guards-red console..

What's up with the steering wheel airbag? It almost looks as if it went off and someone put the old cover back in place..

Might be too much with the console? I would need to see some examples to decide if I would like it.

Not sure on the steering wheel. It didn't stand out as abnormal when test driving a few examples and the history on the car is spotless. Could be the angle and lighting???

Nice! Saw that one the other day browsing the classifieds. Haven’t seen the painted seat backs before. Hope to see you around CO sometime!

I'm looking at the bulges, folds and creases in the cover. That's not right. They don't come that way and I've never heard of one spontaneously doing that.

Normal airbag..

I’m pretty sure it’s normal on .1 sport steering wheels. I remember seeing it and just looked at a bunch on Bring A Trailer and they all have it.

I went and looked - both Caymans they had exhibited the same thing. I kinda doubt that it came that way from the factory - I suspect it's like the warping door-cards on 981's.. Interesting. And I guess you can forgeddaboutit..

Make sure you honk and waive if you do see me around. If it’s not me, then you’ll be making even more friends.

+1 on the wheels and they're easy to keep clean.

wow love the spec, those red dials, sports steering wheel, and sports seats with red back looks so nice. I also have the fabspeed supercup exhaust and I love it, keep it above 3k rpm (2-3k rpm is where it drones) and you'll have no drone, just pure orgasmic flat 6 sounds. I'm looking into a set of soul longtube header's as well since the oem headers such a huge restriction and complete the baby gt3 sound!

Thank you! Obviously, I love it too.

I quickly figured out that I wouldn't be able to comfortably drive below 3k rpms. Totally worth it though with sweet sweet sound above that range anyway. I haven't had a chance to hear what it sounds like outside of the car in that 2-3k range. I'm hoping it's just an interior thing.

Let me know your experience with the longtubes if you get them! I would love to hear some before/after sound clips.
