Fidelity Platinum Warranty coverage and DIY maintenance

Has anyone heard or experienced Fidelity denying warranty claims when DIY maintenance services are performed? The warranty contract requires maintenance services to be performed according the the manufacturer's schedule and all order, invoices, and receipts to be kept and presented when a claim is made. For the DIYer's, the only receipts would be for parts and not labor. I would keep my parts receipts, but is there anything more I should do?

I'm curious about this too.

Not Fidelity, but my Endurance policy specifically addresses DIY service, stating that all service-related receipts should be kept and presented if a claim is made. I treat it like a DIY service done on the car when the factory warranty was in effect...Keep the receipts for parts and lubricants and write the date/mileage on them when I do the service. If that isn't enough, you're probably going to have problems with 'em anyway.

Keep the receipts, that's all you should need. If you want to be really thorough take a pic of the service when you are doing it.

Wasn't there a contact for a rep at some dealership that sold these Fidelity extended warranties at a really good price? I remember reading that while ago, but i can't find anything now. I'm considering one for my car.

Like any "insurance," the warranty company is betting that nothing will happen to your car. At the same time, you're kinda' betting "something" will. Purchasing the insurance mitigates that risk...$3K+ seems like a lot of money until your $15K+ PDK goes south...It all comes down to how long you plan to keep the car and how much you are willing to plunk down for "risk management"...

They are pretty stout, but yeh, a failure of the engine or PDK would be an epic bummer. I track the car a lot so there is higher risk of that, i'd say. I emailed the guy above for a quote just to see.
