Default Help! What is this wire? (3.4 s)

2007 Boxster S

Hello all, so I just did my AOS, oil cooler, AOS vapor lines, and some other stuff.

I have the car back together but...I can't figure out where this plug goes? Don't see anywhere to plug it in. I have the shop manual but can't figure it out.

Anyone know? Would love to finish soon!!

Drivers' side of engine

Wow no one knows? I should have mentioned an IMS bearing to get some eyeballs

Do you remember unplugging it? It may have been unused. I would look for a connection under the intake plenum.

Found it! No I didn't unplug it. It is indeed the evap connector under the driver's manifold. I didn't remove manifold and didn't unplug it. Possible it was never plugged in? Anyway with a mirror and patience, plugged it back in. Thanks

Porsche doesn't put extra wires in their cars. It was used and plugged in - you can tell by how clean the green gasket and the contacts are.

Default The wires

Basically any wire has a corresponding plug within the reach of the wire somewhere so start stretching and groping and you’ll eventually find it.

I only very recently got the car. My second Boxster. Pretty sure the car would have run with it unplugged. Anyway with a mirror and patience, plugged it back in. Thanks

Sometimes they do. For example in 981s with base exhaust, the plug that would go to the vacuum solenoid that actuates PSE hangs around in that location unused.

My 987.2 also has this unused plug but it does "plug in" to some kind of blank receptacle.
