Default 987.1 Mods

Hey fellow Porsche Cayman owners, thought I would share some mods I did to my 2006 Cayman S.

GT4 Side Scoops, these are offered on ebay from user skunkz1030, his name is Jon, great guy and no issues dealing with him. They look awesome on my car.

Also added Carbon Fiber Duck Tail, just the right size and no modifications needed, just bolts on the OEM shell. Quality is really nice.

Finally, front flexible small splitter lip....will be installing smoke led front side markers and side skirts next week. Let me know if you have any questions about my mods, glad to share my thoughts on this.

thanks

David

Just curious - when driving do you notice the engine compartment fan cycling more often when driving in a spirited manner? The large scoop will help get more air in - the question is - does the air have anywhere to exit with both scoops enlarged? Will it just pass down around the engine?

Carbon Fiber Duck Tail: seller:
carbon_galore @375.00
Front Splitter: seller:
ez-lip @55.00, you might laugh at this one, but I have tried so many that ost $$$$$$$ and didn't fit or I didn't like.

Thanks

@deilenberger I have not noticed the fan or any noises that are out of the norm. The question about the scoops, I know more air is coming in and would just pass out as normal. If you want to get the technical aspects in more detail; here is the guy I bought it from on ebay. He makes these scoops and has tested them on street and track cars: user: skunkz1030and his name is Jon; nice guy.

thanks

i noticed the title was 987.1 mods, and i really liked your previous wheel caps on your sold HRE blk wheels. Where did you get the wheel caps?

and what wheels are in the picture of this thread? would love to know size/offset/tire setup.

@dLat wish I could help you out on the center caps, I bought them some time ago from a guy on ebay. I don't have his details any longer, sorry.

On the current wheels I have, see details below: Wheels were custom made to fit my model with no spacers. I just had them powder coated in the Porsche 911 color.
Wheels:
20x8.5 Savini BM-14
20x10 Savini BM-14
Tires:
Nexen - 275/30ZR20XL 97Y
245/30ZR20XL 90Y

@CW987 I did do the tail lights myself, it was a light smoke vinyl tint. I bought it off off Amazon, cant remember the seller, but it was a generic brand.

thanks
