Default Onboard Tire Air Compressor Maintenance

Since I purchased my 07 Cayman used, I decided to take a look at the tire air compressor. It does work (well, it blows air), but it looks like it's never been used. Is there any maintenance (oiling, etc) that needs to be done on this compressor? Is there a 'shelf life' when it should be replaced? I have already purchased new tire 'goop' as the original looked kind of dated.

Thanks!
