I have a '06 S that is used as an Autox/hillclimb car. It has 62k miles on it. Among other things, it has an FVD deep sump and the X51 windage baffle setup. I replaced the AOS with standard OEM last winter, so less then 500 miles on it. Today we had the classic symptoms of AOS failure - clouds of smoke, squeal when running hard, etc. We are running at a hybrid autox/roadcourse event and using Hoosiers A7s.
Runs last about 90 seconds, and we have two drivers in the car, so today we put 12 minutes total of run time and I would expect the same tomorrow.
I can't replace the AOS before tomorrow. Are we okay to run another 12 minutes tomorrow? We trailer the car so don't need it to get home.
Intend to install the Motorsports AOS - just having a hard time choking on the $1800 they want for run, considering what it is. Ironically, the previous AOS was fine when I replaced it. I changed it out as I wanted to be proactive.

Pelican makes it sound risky.
The same happened to me at Motorsports Ranch Cresson in the first session one Saturday, and I just called it a day and went home.
