My buddy bought a 14 Cayman S with 13k miles, manual chrono, exhaust, pasm, etc. for a bit under 50. The car was/is immaculate. For another 50k miles I would want 15-20k off. But that puts you below 987.1 territory. 2006-8 with just under 40k mi is a 25k car. Go up 15k to a 2014 with 60k. Food for thought.
I bought my 07 CS with 37K, recent clutch, new front brakes, new windshield with P logo (sandblasted here in CO), new Michelins installed by the dealer and some prep by the dealer for just under 30 so I put 25 out there. My friend traded it in a few days earlier, so I knew about the clutch which was an anomoly, it cracked. Overrev shows 25 in zone 2. I think it was by me. That's 12 fires at 7,000 RPM. How many milliseconds is that?

My bad. 40,000 mile 06-08 is a $25,000 car. Go up $15,000 for a 2014 with 60,000 miles. FYI the 2014 my buddy bought in June with about 13,700 miles had a MSRP of about $80,500. It also had new tires.

I recently purchased an '08 CS 6-spd manual with just under 55K miles and in excellent condition (the interior really does look brand new), brand new Pirelli P0s, refinished and powder-coated rims, and had been mostly unused for the last 6 years (the PO passed away and his wife couldn't bring herself to sell it). Paid just over $30K for it.

LOL, my bad too - I should have written "40K miles" (not 25K).

No, not a good deal, but might be a great car.
I am finding manuals show up at Non Porsche dealer lots - as if the P dealers don't want to resell them.
German car values are based on miles. If a normal manual, with 25k miles sells for about $40ish. This one with 61k on the odometer, I would want a discount to $33 - $35k at the most.
I know its frustrating trying to find a good 981 S as the secret is out. They are nearly bulletproof as track cars, and for the money it is a very special car.

I traded in my '14 981CS MT in Rhodium over black a few months ago to my local dealer due to none interest advertising it via PCA. My guess is the high mileage it had on it; 54K at the time. I was asking low 40s private party sale, and settled for mid 30s because I wanted to move along with another deal. It was also a low spec car with the MT (no SC) and few other options. My sales advisor indicated they would auction the car due to cosmetic issues and high mileage. I would not doubt that. Car was relatively trouble free. I still miss that 3.4 wail though lol.

Nice.
I would MAKE SURE that the CPO warranty transfers IF NOT sold at a PORSCHE DEALER. I enquired for my car to PCNA Atlanta and confirmed that sales through a non-Porsche dealer ARE NOT CPO cars - even though my car was sold to the second owner as a CPO and I even found the CPO card in the glove box. Lesson learned for me.

Spot on. Private party and PCA asking prices are out of whack. Owners may advertise figures but I highly doubt the cars are selling at those prices.

Silver is one of my top choices, I'd have been all over that.... did it have sports design steering wheel and Carrera S wheels?
The white one in my first post is already sold apparently....just waiting on PPI
The 30k mile CPO Cayman S's are typically asking $49k on up and don't budge on their prices more than a few hundred bucks
About six months ago I found a nice silver base with x73 at a Porsche dealer and for ****s and giggles I let them give me a price on what they'd give me for my 144,000 mile NSX..... they finally got back to me like five days later and the salesman was embarrassed to tell me they could give me $15,000 ...I had quite a chuckle at that one. I sold it last week for $42,000 in less than a week.

Also is there a source for nomenclature/jargon anywhere? What is difference between 987.1 and 987.2 for example? I think I've seen a mention of a 987.2 boxter somewhere and that totally confused me.
Thx.

Don't know what the "4.66" refers to -- possibly the gearing?? Re 987.1, 987.2, etc. the following links should help.
987.1 refers to the first version of Caymans (2006-2008).
987.2 refers to the next version of Caymans. (2009-2012) The 987.2 Cayman engine is more reliable than the first version; the PDK transmission was also introduced in the 987.2 Caymans.
