Porsche Cayman identification help car fax off ?
I need a little help I'm actually driving to look at a 2007 Porsche cayman I haven't had one yet I've had some 9 elevens and I have 1 right now my question is the title says cayman S and the carfax shows cayman S but it has a base engine in its a base moral does the S stand for something else or is this something that I should be concerned with obviously I'm gonna check all the vein places to make sure everything matches up but the actual carfax says 2007 Porsche cayman S and then underneath it it has the 2.7 l engine and the title says Porsche cayman S in the Vin matches I'm also using voice to text driving hands free so hopefully you can understand us trying to find an answer before I get there

When I used the VIN Decoder search engine, this is what I found, which tells me that it's not a S:
Flat 6 Cylinder Engine Displacement L/CI 2.7/164
Here is the link to the VIN Decoder, should you want to get all the information it'll provide:
https://rennlist.com/forums/vindecod...AC2A86GK191451
When you get there, you'll be asked to enter the car's VIN in the box and you'll need to delete the VIN that you see when you open the link and then click on the "decode" button.
Pretty sure they both say it's a base model, not a S

I saw the carfax had the correct engine size for a base model. I believed it to be a base model I just was wondering why the title and carfax say S. The carfax says 2.7 (base) but wasn't sure if the S meant something else besides obviously Cayman S. I didn't imagine Porsche would have a base model with some S package or Edition or anything that could be mistake as a Cayman S model. But I also have never come across any car being titled wrong and showing wrong on a car fax. I guess this is the first one. Thanks for your help guys. Also it had the S wheels on it when he bought it and obviously I kind of was hoping to steal an S but it was the 2.7 when i got there. But he has it listed forsale correctly not as an S. I ended up passing but it was an interesting combination of errors apparently on the title and carfax that got me a little excited tonight.
