Default "Reduced Engine Power", base '11 Cayman

I just took delivery of 11 base Cayman yesterday in Phoenix! Epic road tripping it back east. Last night drove to Socorro, maybe 350 mile trip? No issues. 70 miles down the highway this morning and I get CEL and messages to take car to workshop and "Reduced Engine Power".

Reduced power was apparent, I slowed from 80 to 60, car struggled a bit to go up a hill. I pulled off and turned car off. Restarted it after a few minutes and got no warnings. Drove off with no problems, went 10 miles down the road and pulled into gas station to fill her up. About to continue trip, with some apprehension...

Any ideas? Battery seems fine, car starts right up every time.

Welp, did about 550 miles yesterday, now in Abilene. No further problems. Search suggests low battery voltage might cause this, but it seems weird that it just popped up driving down the highway after about 70 miles on the road. Weird...

Anyway, proceeding to Mississippi today. I hope!

Computers are weird. I got a similar false warning yesterday on my Bimmer. Increased Steering Effort! Reduce speed! Had just left grocery store and 10 seconds later all was again well. Not paying any attention to it unless it recurs.

Congrats on the new ride!

I have cars (non P-cars) in the past that would do this if a coil pack was going or some other sensor.

It only takes a second to pop the battery cover off and check the contacts...
