Anyway to release the front hood other then the key and interior switch ?
I left the key in the ignition and the battery is dead an cannot remove the key and all electronics are dead. Need a manual way into the front trunk. Any ideas ?

The frunk release is on the driver’s side front wheel well. You have to remove the wheel liner to find the silver cable release. Otherwise as stated a above, you can jump the car from the fuse box, by pulling out the red prong designed for this purpose. A cigerette lighter adapter for your charger, is also essential for our cars.

If your car matches his description, I'd try this piece of Pedro's advice before I did anything else. It's cheap and doesn't require the removal of any bodywork.
For the cars with electrically operated trunk lids (with a switch next to the driver’s doorsill) the easiest way to solve the problem is to recharge the battery a bit. You can use a 12 volt adapter connected to a donor battery through your cigarette lighter (12 volt) outlet.
Depending on the condition of the car’s battery you may have to leave the connection in place for up to 1 hour in order to get enough charge to pop the trunk lid.
When recharging this way, make sure all of the electricals are turned off including lights, radio, radar detector, GPS, etc. This connection is only good enough to get the trunk lid open. DO NOT try to start the engine with this connection in place.

Well its worse then worst case scenario. Batteries is bone dry and won't charge from accessory port. Frunk release on drivers side wheel well is gone. I pulled the lower bumper grill to try and reach my hand up and no luck. What now ??? Take the bumper off ?

Trying another trickle charger may leave on overnight. - UPDATE - Overnight trickle didn't recharge battery. I guess the battery is gone. Any ideas on how to get frunk open without release cable or power ???

Otherwise jumping the battery through the fuse box should yeild enough power to open the frunk using the release switch. It is a PIA that the frunk release is not in the cabin

As stated above , the frunk release on a 987 is under the driver’s side wheel liner. The cable release pertrudes only about 1 “ and has a black grommet holding it in place. It looks like a small nipple from a distance. If the battery is dead, that’s your best option.
