First, congrats on the purchase and glad you survived that accident!

10 hours seems incredibly high. I've done an R&R on my M5's oil pan that had nothing in the way of it dropping down and looks like ours is the same way.

Unless I'm missing something, it's just removing the bolts holding it to upper pan/block. Cleaning off the gasket residue, putting on a new one and torquing the bolts again. Got a good indy shop around?

I see it that way also. I got the car from CarMax which has a 30 day warranty. They took it to Irvine Porsche to figure out the code and mentioned the leaks. We'll see what CarMax has to say. I think Irvine Porsche is soaking CarMax.

I don't think I've ever seen a Porsche at CarMax but it is pretty easy to sell your car to them. Anyway, yeah it does seem like there's some shenanigans going on. Their rate is at least, what, $200-$220/hr? Yikes.

Good to know you personally won't be responsible.

They had 2 2014 Cayman S a 2011 997 turbo cab and a few Cayenne Macan's. Also C7 M3 and 4's
They were all priced right and the people and process was quick and easy.

Does CarMax require you to use this dealer? I’d make contact with the local PCA chapter and see who the good Indy shops are in your area.

On the other hand it never hurts to fix oil leaks, especially if it’s not on your dime.

Looks like CarMax used the dealer for diagnostic and they'll do the repairs.

Update. Number 6 coil replaced and as for the oil leaks they said it was a sloppy oil change. Leak at the drain plug and leak at the filter canister o ring seal. All re done and no leak or smell of oil. I have noticed the slightest hesitation when passing 3000 to 3200 RPM's. Very slight but I feel it. I read a little about variocam possibly being the culprit. Any experience with this?
Thanks
