Here's a pretty thoroughly optioned car!

Wow!

And not badly priced given the condition & mileage...

Comments by Bill Lehman and Macster are right on the money. Just bought a 2006 Cayman S with PASM, be-xenon, Bose, sport chrono, 19 inch wheels and a few other options. I love the car, but a few option-related thoughts come to mind...

The lights are amazing. These are the first truly high performance lights I have had and they are incredible. Probably a high priority option since the cost of upgrading is stunning.

Sport chrono package is interesting, but probably more applicable to tracked cars. I don't use it much. May add resale value, but not of much value to me.

19 inch wheels...they are very nice looking, but I don't have an issue with standard 18 inch. Again not a priority.

A Boxster friend suggested power and heated seats. I have neither. I will miss the heated seats since my three ancient BMWs have them. I don't need power seats since the sport seats have a power recline and other manual adjustments. I don't move the seat much, so not an issue.

Bose is take it or leave it in the 987.1. No added value.

To me, these are the primary functional option considerations. Other's are relatively a matter of taste or preference.

Your build looks similar to my 2025 S that I received in July. Here's what I've decided after a few months of ownership.
  • LKA is not worth it at all. It doesn't keep the car in the center of the lane, but rather ping-pongs you left to right enough that a cop would probably think you're drunk. The terrible performance is likely due to the legacy platform - I expect it's much better on the electric models.
  • You're already used to the 18-way seats, but IMHO they're a bit restrictive for an SUV. I think they're appropriate for a sports car, but they're a bit of a chore to get in and out for my wife who's 5'4" and I find them a bit confining for long road trips and I'm not squealing the tires in the family car around the corners anyway.
  • Electric steering column - great for multiple drivers, not needed if you're the only driver.
  • Sport chrono - I got it solely for the steering wheel control to switch to sport and back which is admittedly silly a reason. There's a switch on the console but you have to look down to find it. Performance in regular mode is sluggish IMHO, so I switch back and forth to sport as needed.
  • Surround view - love it and I get it in every car where it's an option. I still need to figure out a good way to activate it with a button (probably the diamond button) as it only comes available in certain conditions (e.g. obstruction close in front, or car in reverse).
  • PASM is different from Air Suspension. I got PASM but not Air.
  • One additional feature I like is the leather interior - the additional leather really helps the interior to match the high price tag. I did deviated leather as well to match the exterior color but that's really just for fun (wish I'd done matching seatbelts too)
