My greatest ever days driving was circling Furka, Grimsel and Susten Passes.. early June, quiet roads, blue skies, just totally epic.....
As well as Spyder hooning, we’ve spent two family summer holidays in Wengen (Beau Park Site Hotel &#128513, doing Murren, Schilithorn, Grindlewald etc...
Simply beautiful.....
Went back this March after a visit to the Geneva Auto Show.... just as magical in the snow......

Dammit. I'm chomping at the bit. I spent 3 nights in Wengen as well and found it so perfectly central to everything in the Lauterbrunnen valley. My wife and I had to chuckle as we walked along the river from Lauterbrunnen toward Stechelberg and came upon a little thatch-roofed shack in the middle of nowhere. We first thought it was restroom, only to discover as we walked up to it that it was actually a vending machine. But curiously there were no Snickers, no Milky Way, no chips and no gum to be found. Only bottles of wine, blocks of cheese and boxes of various delicious crackers to be consumed as you walk through that glorious valley. We just stood there and scratched our heads and laughed and thought, man we are a loooong way from home. Have fun. I'm jealous.

Some great pics of beautiful spyders posted here. Nice job all owners. Donovan …. that's the best looking Spyder (in my humble opinion) I have seen in ages since I started drooling on spyders after I visited Afshin in MA !! I can see why you broke one of your cardinal rules in acquiring it ie. front bumper holes drilled Let me know when you are in the area. I would love to see it in the flesh. There is something so pure about that "color" white ...

Default Gen-1 Spyder waves the P flag...

I know, I know. Stop pushing the envious special features of the Gen-1 Spyder top! It gets old, doesn't it? But seriously, does any Porsche, nevermind other Spyders, have the double-function holes in the roll-bar for Porsche sun-shade / flag waving functions?

And let's not forget the ingenious way the Gen-1 roof can transform the car into a camper on those cars equipped with the elusive Campground Performance option.

Gen-1 roof can do it all!

It's the Swiss Army knife of roofs

Thanks, Man! Not sure when I will be in the area again. Sometime this summer though... maybe the Grand Display in Kirkland?

Yeah I wish... it’s just I can’t have too much sun exposure.... and the 987.2 allows the best of both worlds... sun protection and open air driving! I just wish they made a feature where the back could be removed on the 981 like the 987. I have my name on a 982 Spyder and it’s honestly going to come down to the roof for me whether or not I’m getting one.

From the pics and considering what they did with the 991 speedster you'll have to love with the 981 solution, if you decide to go for it.
