Typical terribly dumb review from Motor Authority, but the visual breakdown is interesting (can we embed things in iframe? Am I missing something? Link below since I can't figure it out). It is gorgeous though!

I read a lot of this thread on the Sport and Sport Plus button but was wondering what's the final verdict on what it does? Is it just the following?;

Sport
  • Stiffer engine mounts
Sport Plus
  • Stiffest engine mounts
  • Rev Matching
  • Exhaust pops and burbles

Do the Spyder and GT4 share the same rear diffuser?

In addition to what you have mentioned, engaging either the Sport or Sport Plus modes also remaps the thermostat "mapping" as described in the Porsche "Service Information Technik" document:

"The thermostat is an insertion map-controlled thermostat with a heating element.
The electric heating element of the map-controlled thermostat is energized via the
DME control unit. The flow of current through the heating element (electric resistor)
causes it to heat up, which in turn influences the expansion element in the thermostat
and enables it to be opened. Actuation by the DME control unit is performed by means
of pulse width modulation (between 2.5 and 97.5%), which means that the coolant
temperature level can be continuously controlled.
The usual coolant temperature is 221° F (105° C) when the engine
is at operating temperature; it is reduced to 185° F (85° C) during sporty driving and in
Sport/Sport Plus mode by opening (energizing) the thermostat. This supports a
performance-oriented driving style.
The DME control unit can also have the thermostat closed by switching off the
heating current. A precondition for this is a coolant temperature of less than 216° F
(102° C). The map-controlled thermostat starts to open at 216° F (102° C)
+/- 4° F (2° C) when de-energized and is fully open at 239° F (115° C).
The coolant temperature is measured by the engine coolant temperature sensor and
the radiator outlet coolant temperature sensor and transmitted to the DME control unit."

One other item that is affected is if the car is equipped with the Porsche Dynamic Lighting System (PDLS) Plus, engaging the Sport modes enables a greater swivel angle for the headlight beams depending on steering input.

Yes, as well as the front bumper, rear whale tail spoiler (GT4 is not active... but they are the same)

great pics Pistol.. thank you.

confirms that front diffuser from GT4 is going on my Spyder (yes yes i know, it will dramatically unbalance the downforce of the car and I'll spin into oblivion upon exiting the dealership) as well as the air scoops, probably in some kind of flat carbon fiber finish.

1.5 more months approximately... these pictures don't make it any easier.

You should be more worried about how slow the car will be with the bigger air scoops, your drag coefficient is going up.

But maybe that gets compensated by extra hp through the ram air effect

Also going to add a go-fast stripe, should add that back.
