Is Lava Orange not a Pts color? Spotted one this weekend
Lava was not a standard or optional color on the Spyder so, yes, it would have been a PTS car you saw. If you happened to take any pics, please post as I don't recall ever seeing any prior pics of a Lava Spyder. Thanks.
so, i'm learning something new, paint to sample. I thought pts was a unique non-Porsche color the customer requested for their car. The customer would provide a sample of the color and Porsche would do it. It appears pts is a customer request for a Porsche color, e.g. Mexico Blue, Slate Grey, Zanzibar Red that is not a standard or option color for the year, model being ordered. Or is it both scenarios?

No kidding, I didn’t realize the Lava was a local car. Did you get the owners contact info so we can invite him out for one of the drives? That thing would help beak up the sea of silver and black
are you sure thar’s Lava Oranage? I’ve seen Lava Orange a lot and it usually comes across darker / redder than that in pics. Looks like it could be continental, pastel, or even signal orange.

Looks Lava to me, but whatever it is I kinda dig it. Big orange fan here with Zanzibar maybe being my favorite.
I didn't get a chance to meet the owner. Hope to in the future. I consulted my friends at rare shades and they think it is Gulf Orange. Even more special!! Cheers

It can not be 'Continental Orange' nor 'Signal Orange'. Neither is approved for PTS by Porsche.
Doubt anyone would waste a coveted PTS slot on 'Lava Orange' when they can order 'Pastel Orange' or 'Gulf Orange'.
Looks 'Gulf Orange' from the attached picture...but not certain since photos often misrepresent a hue due to lenses used,
filters, light conditions, etc.
