>>>USA PTS 981 SPYDER LIST<<<

the picture of #16 (WP0CC2A86GS152741) voodoo blue is not correct. The Spyder on the picture is a UK car with wheel on the right side with "Halbschalensitze" (only ROW cars) and no PCCB

Zanzibar Red 981 Spyder
#10 on your list is my car. I configured it and ordered it new from Aristocrat Motors in Kansas City. Zanzibar Red really looks like an orange color rather than any kind of red. The Porsche Parade is in our backyard this summer at Lake of the Ozarks, and I'll have the car there. -- sw7777

A friend sent me a link to this thread yesterday. I've not used Rennlist before, and right now I'm lost trying to navigate. I can post more pics once I learn my way around.

Beautiful. I am in love with that color. Black wheels would seal the deal to me. I'm biased, but it's crazy how much better and more exotic the Spyder looks compared to a car that cost 2x as much.

One of my favorites as well... Hooks great to the PCCB's and Porsche Colored Crests.

I'm always interested in the backstories to these PTS cars -- why and how their owners decided on the color -- and usually there's a good tale! I don't think Steve would mind me sharing his story:
In 2008 my wife and I attended the Porsche Parade in Charlotte NC. We saw the Zanzibar Red color for the first time on a Carrera GT there. It was gorgeous. The owner said he had to actually fly over to Germany several times to argue with the Porsche factory folks because they refused to produce the car in that color - thought he was nuts. We came home and I ordered a 2010 911TT in that color. I had many people tell me it was the most beautiful car they had ever seen - carried away in the moment, I guess - and we often had people actually follow us around until we stopped so they could tell us how great the car was.
I vividly remember the first time I saw Zanzibar in the flesh and, being an orange lover, it stopped me dead in my tracks. Head and shoulders above Lava IMO.

I'll have to look for that car this summer at the Parade. Won't be there in the Spyder, but with my son in our turquoise 993 coupe...
I do like the painted roll hoops- may have to think about doing that along with the air inlets on the side.
