Default Rattling roof on 981 Spyder

The one ongoing issue I have with my Spyder is a random rattling noise coming from the header rail where it attaches to the windscreen.
I've had the car back to the OPC a couple of times, first time the rattle disappeared (that old chestnut...), second time they said they had fixed it, but hadn't

Anyone else had this problem ??

Cheers

Thanks for chipping in guys, I believe something is loose up in the header rail.
I will get in to the OPC again in a couple of weeks and report back here.
Cheers

Quiet as mouse. Hope you get fixed. I understand the frustration.

Keep us posted. That would drive me crazy. I'm still trying to figure out the best way to get the seat belt not to make noise hitting side of the passenger seat while driving. I could just buckle it in, but there's got to be a better solution.

Just booked in to the OPC for the 15th.
Thankfully 90% of the time it's roof down for me, but it does wind me up !!
I had a similar situation with my 987BS rattling and creaking in different areas, finally got that sorted by a guy who restored classic interiors.

Hopefully this is just something that's worked loose.

Will let you all know the outcome.

Just picked up my car from the OPC.

Apparently they found a loose bolt at the back of the roof, which was causing the noise up front.
Driving home it was completely silent !!!

Hoping it's all been sorted

Whilst it was in, I was given a base PDK black edition Boxster.
I'm really not a fan of a PDK (just MHO), but boy was I glad to get back into the Spyder. It is just an awesome car !!
Just a plain steering wheel, 3 pedals and a stick (oh and that 3.8) Perfect.

Also they have a new Lava Orange 718 S in the showroom, no PCCB's, but really heavily optioned. The Price........over £73K, that's £6k more than my Spyder cost

Glad you got it sorted. Yeah, the pricing of the 718 is a big head scratcher for me. Makes me wonder how expensive the next 718 Spyder/GT4 will be??? Glad I snagged my 981 when I did.

Yep, that's how I feel too, which is why I had to buy two -not as an investment, but because I thought this opportunity wouldn't come my way again. I really feel like I have a fantastic user friendly exotic car at a third of the price but 100% of the fun.

There is a slider on the belt. Push the buckle all the way to the top so it is flush with where the belt exits from the side, then lock it in place with the slider on the belt...

done.

My roof issue is a little more complex.... I am on to my second one. The first had damage to the read window on delivery, so it was replaced under warranty. The second was installed, but the wash bay cocked it up and damaged it through excessive use of the vacuum which has taken the pile out of the roof..... so now I am waiting for roof number 3.

In the interim, roof 2 makes a flapping noise behind your head when over 100Km/h so hoping roof 3 solves that. Roof one never had the problem.

Replacement roof is hand made on order so it takes time...

^^^^taffin, you're the only one (that I know of) that has had their roof replaced.

I realize your roofs have been replaced under warranty, but have they told you what the price of a new roof is? I'd be curious to know. And when you say they are "hand made," can you elaborate on that? I'm assuming the roof comes from a Porsche supplier. Do you know who that supplier is?

Thanks.
