thanks for the info, that's good to know
my assumption was the leather was part of the steering column in leather option as previously noted

would be good info for Eduardo's thread on custom options for your Porsche

+1 on the X73

but I would like to see the 20" Carrera S wheels available in both 18 and 19 inch versions, with a platinum option

I am wondering if that is the whole story. I was happily surprised when I discovered that the back of my Sport Design wheel in 'Carrera Red' on my Boxster Spyder was 'red' and not 'black'. It was painted, not 'leather covered'. I may have been because I did order the 'steering column casing in leather', which came in 'Carrera Red'. See last photo. But I don't remember ever seeing the back of a steering wheel (standard, multifunction or sport design) color coordinated to the leather of a 'steering column casing' yet on a 981, except for the photo at the top. Is it the wood/carbon option the reason? Or is it because 'steering column casing in leather' was ordered? It be nice to confirm directly from 'Porsche Exclusive'.

Saludos,
Eduardo

PS I have posted this also at the custom ordering thread as suggested by JSF 101. https://rennlist.com/forums/987-981-...e-and-you.html

I did a Boxster in the Silver/Agate-Amber Orange too, here it is...

Eduardo, we are talking about modern 981/991 models - it is different situation from your Spyder. Currently, you will not get any color except Black Plastic on Sport Design Wheel, irrespective of interior color or natural/unnatural leather - just no way. Only carbon or wood. Also, it does not depend upon whether you have Steering Column in Leather or not. That is: if I have my multifunction steering wheel with carbon parts, but I do not have steering column in leather, STILL I will get the back side of my steering wheel in leather (interior color). I have some pictures, but I cannot attach it here - though may send them to any email and you can put it here.

I know what 'we' are talking about....I have posted (see # 61) about this wheel 'color' issue in the past!

No, I am sorry, but it seems that you are not right (in your old post 61) - XNS (steering column in leather) has nothing to do with "eliminating" of black plastic from the back of the steering wheel. The only "killer" option of black plastic is: you should take either carbon or wood steering wheel.

What I said then was the following: "But that is NOT ALL. It also eliminates the 'black' rear part of your steering wheel since that apparently is also coordinated to the color of your interior and the adjacent leather-covered 'steering column' (see attachment #5 from the configurator in Luxor Beige)"

That might not be correct...but it's what I saw in the configurator which was included in my original post (see attached). By now we have many folks at Rennlist that have ordered 'steering column casing in leather' and they can perhaps inform us if the back of those steering wheels are indeed coordinated with the leather on their 'steering column casing' if their interior color is Luxor Beige, Carrera Red, Espresso, etc.

Gents lets try keep this thread on topic regarding colors of 981s rather than disagreeing about options.

I'm looking for a CPO Aqua/Sapphire blue BS myself with some type of two tone interior.

Here is an Aqua blue Base with black interior.

Just added this Mahogany 2014, to the Family ….Love the Car and how it drives….I'm not giving up my other "baby" yet though….…but the Boxster is really impressive!!!….Bought the wife a Cayenne 6 months ago, and I was so impressed with that car…I had to get me a 981…just for more fun.
