981 maintenance cost DC
#17
I got an estimate before the work was done. The problem is that they only performed the oil change and skipped the rest of the 20k maintenance. I thought it might have been a misunderstanding, but that seems unlikely, given the price. I just wanted to confirm this first. I have since contacted the dealer.

Let us know how this works out. Most dealers are not purposely charging for work they do not do. They generally want a satisfied customer and your repeat business.
If for some reason they don't make good, escalate to Porsche NA level.

Well, they claim that 650 is their price for the "yearly service" (i.e. oil change and test drive) and that I misunderstood what was being offered. I believe they mentioned the 20k maintenance at some point (because I didn't even know there was a 20k maintenance before I brought my car there), and that's probably how I got the impression. Additionally, that price seems absurdly high for essentially just an oil change. Not sure what I can do at this point.

If this happened as described, these people need to have their franchise yanked.

I'm not surprised in the least. Brought my first Porsche a 944 in for belt service. Dropped more oil than the Exxon Valdez on the way home, they should have caught that PARKING IT. Took it back and was charged again without concession for a new oil seal which they thought was going to need replacement after service but never picked up the phone to ask me about it. I think they destroyed it during the repair, either way they should have left it apart the first time and called me. I never went back to that Dealer.
